A new dawn begins for Satanic Punish as, at last, a new member was revealed on May 5th, 2024.

Shikiin Catherine – though she prefers the nicknames Cathy or Rinrin, she has stated on social media – has been welcomed as the newest member of the extreme idol unit.

Joining leader Mana Manomu, Cathy has expressed her feelings since the reveal about becoming the newest member ahead of her debut on May 25th. Prior to Cathy’s reveal, the dates for Satanic Punishes up-coming Autumn EU tour were announced, and will take place on September 20th in Arnhem, The Netherlands, and September 21st in Cologne, Germany.

In an exclusive interview, taken before the announcement and name reveal was made, Cathy tells Beyond Senpai how she feels about becoming the newest member of Satanic Punish and gives the fans an insight into who she is.

As the newest member of Satanic Punish, can you tell us how it felt when you were told that you had been successful in joining the group?

サタニック・パニッシュの新メンバーとして、入団が決まったと言われた時のお気持ちをお聞かせください。

It was an incredible feeling!
I couldn’t stop my feelings of happiness and excitement!

信じられない気持ちでした！

What is it that attracted you to Satanic Punish? Had you listened to their music prior to the audition?

Satanic Punishのどこに惹かれましたか？オーディション前に彼らの音楽を聴いていましたか？

I was overwhelmed by the logo, high musicality, sound pressure, costumes, and atmosphere of the members, and was instantly drawn to them.

I started listening to the music while I was auditioning.

ロゴ、高い音楽性、音圧、衣装、メンバーの雰囲気に圧倒され、一瞬にして惹かれました。

Is there a Satanic Punish song that impressed you the most?

Recently I have been working on Alpha Omega and Across the future (Beyond 2049).

最近はAlpha Omegaと、Across the future (Beyond 2049) です。

Please tell us a little bit about your vocal style and what you would like to bring to Satanic Punish musically.

あなたのヴォーカル・スタイルと、音楽的にSatanic Punishに何をもたらしたいか、少し教えてください。

My vocal style and policy is to “convey the lyrics”.

I hope I can add a new sound to Satanic Punish.

You are currently working alongside Manomu-san, who has been working as the face of Satanic Punish. What has it been like to sing with and watch Manomu-san?

現在、Satanic Punishの顔として活躍している魔ノ夢さんと一緒に仕事をしていますね。魔夢さんと一緒に歌い、魔ノ夢さんを見てきてどうでしたか？

I think Manomu-san is a very calm and mentally mature person.

I feel that the way she sings on stage touches the hearts of many people. I hope I can absorb some of the good things about her.

魔ノ夢さんはとても落ち着いていて精神的に大人な方だなぁと思います。
そんな彼女がステージで響かせる歌声は色んな人の気持ちを動かしていると感じています。
彼女のいい所を私も吸収できたらと思います。

What are you most looking forward to now that you are a part of Satanic Punish? Is there a specific song that you are excited to perform?

Satanic Punishの一員となった今、最も楽しみにしていることは何ですか？演奏するのが楽しみな曲はありますか？

All of it.

I’m looking forward to everything, whether it’s singing and dancing live or the activities I personally want to do in order to promote Satapani.

全てです。
ライブで歌うのも踊るのも、個人的にサタパニを広めるためにやりたい活動も、全てが楽しみです。

Is there something that inspires you musically, such as a group or musician?

グループやミュージシャンなど、音楽的にインスパイアされるものはありますか？

I listen to Japanese rock musicians (some pop and idol) and foreign rock metal artists.

I also occasionally listen to anime songs, Vocaloid, Japanese Showa songs, opera, classical music, jazz, and chanson.

日本のロックミュージシャン（一部ポップやアイドル）、海外のロックメタルアーティストを聴きます。
アニメソング、ボーカロイド、日本の昭和歌謡曲、オペラ、クラシック、ジャズ、シャンソンもたまに聴きます。

What other groups or styles of music do you enjoy listening to?

他にどんなグループやスタイルの音楽を聴くのが好きですか？

YOASOBI, yama, Official Hige Dandism, Amaranthe, EPICA, Enya, LIVMOON, Seiji Kamatte-chan, Yoeko Kurahashi, Uru, Eir Aoi, vistlip, Golden Bomber, L’Arc-en-Ciel, Acid Black Cherry, Maximum the Hormone.

These days, I often find myself listening to styles of music within the metal genre, more specifically, Progressive Djent and Symphonic Deathcore.

Outside of being an idol, do you have any hobbies or interests that you enjoy?

アイドル活動以外で、趣味や好きなことはありますか？

I study divination. I am also interested in natural stones, aromatherapy, ayurveda, natural cooking, beauty and health. Please don’t think I’m weird or anything (laughs).

Recently, I have started doing yoga and karate.

占いを勉強してます。あとは天然石、アロマテラピー、アーユルヴェーダ、自然派料理、美容健康などに興味があります。怪しいとか思わないでね(笑)
最近はヨガと空手を始めました。

In a few words, please describe what Satanic Punish means to you.
