It’s time to bring on the Darkness and bow down to GARUDA’s brilliance once more!

Hot off the new release of her mini-album, Phoenix of Resurrection, Industrial Idol Yuffie Sakimura has been touring relentlessly alongside her group not only as a member of Melon Batake a GoGo, but also as her solo counterpart, GARUDA.

The joining of GARUDA with Gollipop Records has given us not one, but two incredible MVs and, much to the delight of fans, ‘REINCARNATION and ‘FLY HIGH AGAIN’ feature members of both the Melons and label mates, The Grateful A Mogaaz!

With a hectic timetable, Yuffie-san is also set to embark on her up-coming international tour with popular idol Yurapico, as part of the Zuukyun June tour! To say fans are sure to be delighted to enjoy the new music of GARUDA in a live setting once again would be an understatement!

With her sights set on bringing darkness to the UK and Europe, Yuffie-san joins Beyond Senpai once again to tell us all about her new EP and the up-coming tour.

BS: Welcome back to Beyond Senpai, Yuffie-san! We can see that you have been very busy lately! How are you?

BS: ゆふぃさん、ビヨンド先輩におかえりなさい！あなたは忙しかった！お元気ですか？

G: I am glad to have the opportunity to be interviewed again! Thank you!

From February to May, I had a very full schedule of release events with my group, which included regional tours during the Melon Batake tour. There were even days when I had been scheduled events for three consecutive weeks but, right now, I’m doing very well!

G:またインタビューの機会を頂けて嬉しいです！

ありがとうございます！！

2月から5月にかけてのリリースイベントや、めろん畑のツアーにも参加して地方公演も行っていたので、とても充実していました。3週間連続でイベントやスケジュールが続く日もありましたが、私はとっても元気です！

BS: The new mini album, ‘Phoenix of Resurrection’ was recently released. Congratulations! What inspired you to create this album?

BS: 先日、ニューミニアルバム「Phoenix of Resurrection」がリリースされた。おめでとう！このアルバムを作ろうと思ったきっかけは？

G: Thank you very much!

This album was a tie-up release from GOLLIPOP RECORD, to which Melon Batake a go go belongs. This is the first tie-up project we have done since I belonged to the label.

The album cover, music and costumes for the work were all produced by Moritaka Kinoshita, producer of Melon Batake a go go.

G: ありがとうございます！

このアルバムはめろん畑a go goが所属するGOLLIPOP RECORDからタイアップリリースしました。私がレーベルに所属してから初めてのタイアップ企画です。

作品のアルバムジャケット、楽曲、衣装まで全てめろん畑a go goのプロデューサーである木下盛隆氏がプロデュースしました。

BS: How did the concept of the new songs come together during the creation process?

BS: 新曲のコンセプトは、制作過程でどのように生まれたのですか？

G: The theme of this album is ‘the multiverse’.

Its concept is to depict a ‘GOLLIPO GARUDA’ that exists in a different dimension to the ORIGINAL GARUDA that exists from the outset.

This work depicts the GARUDA that exists within the Melons, and the various possibilities that may exist in various dimensions.

In this work I, as a member of the Melons, die once. Then, I revive and fly high as GOLLIPO GARUDA. This theme is expressed both in REINCARNATION and FLY HIGH AGAIN.

G: 今回のアルバムはマルチバースをテーマにしています。

元から存在するORIGINAL GARUDAとはまた違う次元に存在する”GOLLIPO GARUDA”を描くことがコンセプトです。

、めろんの中に存在するGARUDA、いろいろな次元に存在するかもしれない様々な可能性を描いたのが今作です。

この作品の中でめろんのメンバーとしての私は一度死にます。そしてGOLLIPO GARUDAとして蘇り高く飛翔する姿を描いています。それが『REINCARNATION』と『FLY HIGH AGAIN』で表現されています。

BS: Can you share your writing process with us?

BS: 執筆プロセスを教えていただけますか？

G: Shortly before I had joined Melon Batake a go go, I asked Kinoshita-san to write a song for GARUDA. At that time, Kinoshita-san said yes, and it finally took shape in the sixth year after I joined.

G: 元々めろん畑に入る少し前に、木下さんにGARUDAの曲を書いて欲しいとお願いしていました。その時に木下さんもOKしてくれて、それが加入６年目にようやく形として実現しました。

BS: By the way, the new music video is great! How did it feel performing on the MV as GARUDA, alongside your Melon team mates? Was this your idea?

BS: ところで、新しいミュージックビデオは素晴らしい！GARUDAとして、メロンのチームメイトと一緒にMVに出演した感想は？これはあなたのアイデアですか？

G: This was actually Mr. Kinoshita’s idea.

I shot the scenes for REINCARNATION and FLY HIGH AGAIN with members of the Melons and Mogers.

Both videos were shot in the same studio as the music video for ORIGINAL GARUDA’S Ruler. The first scene in REINCARNATION acts as a tribute to Ruler. Perhaps some of the fans noticed it from the moment they saw it.

It was a strange feeling to have all the members together in the studio I used four years ago.

Also, FLY HIGH AGAIN was the first time I made full use of CG. The video was played at Mogers’ Miksa one-man show in October last year. The theme of the video is that Yuffie Sakimura, who died once, is reincarnated and flies high, but I also want you to see how the members of GPR are living during the IF world line!

G: これは木下さんのアイディアです。

『REINCARNATION』と『FLY HIGH AGAIN』のシーンをめろんとモガーズのメンバーと一緒に撮影しました。

どちらもORIGINAL GARUDA『支配者』のMVと同じスタジオで撮影しました。『REINCARNATION』の最初のシーンは『支配者』のオマージュです。もしかしたら見た瞬間に気づいた方もいらっしゃるかもしれません。

4年前に自分が使っていたスタジオにメンバーが揃って撮影するのは不思議な気持ちでした。

それから、『FLY HIGH AGAIN』は初めてCGを駆使した作品になりました。昨年の10月に開催されたモガーズのミクサのワンマンで流した映像と連動しています。一度死んだ崎村ゆふぃが転生して高く翔び立つことがテーマですが、IFの世界線でGPRのメンバーたちがどう生きているのか見てほしいです！

BS: You will also be touring in Europe again soon! How does that make you feel and what are you most looking forward to doing?

BS: また、まもなくヨーロッパでツアーを行う予定ですね！どんなお気持ちですか？また、何をするのが一番楽しみですか？

G: It’s been two years since we’ve been to the UK and about eight months since we’ve been to the Netherlands and Germany. In the past, I would never have thought that GARUDA would have the chance to perform so many shows abroad, so I am very excited to meet everyone that I cannot meet in Japan!

This time, I will have a hard schedule of travelling and performing live every day, so I hope to enjoy every single day!

G: イギリスへは２年ぶり、オランダとドイツへは約８ヶ月ぶりになります。昔ならGARUDAがこれほど海外公演をするチャンスを頂けるとは思ってもみなかったので、日本では会えない皆さんとお会いするのをとてもワクワクしています！

今回は毎日移動しながらライブをこなすハードスケジュールになるので、一日一日をしっかり楽しめたらと思っています！

BS: We can’t wait to see you in London again! What can the fans expect from your live performance, and what kind of energy do you hope to bring to London this time?

BS: またロンドンであなたに会えるのが待ち遠しいです！ファンはあなたのライブ・パフォーマンスに何を期待し、今回はどんなエネルギーをロンドンに届けたいと思っていますか？

G: By releasing Golipo Garuda, GARUDA has spawned further possibilities. I hope you look forward to both the visuals and the music of the original GARUDA and Golipo Garuda.

We held events every day during the release period, so I hope you will see an evolved form of GARUDA!

G: ゴリポガルーダをリリースしたことで、GARUDAは更なる可能性を産み出しました。オリジナルGARUDA、ゴリポガルーダのどちらのヴィジュアルも楽曲も楽しみにして欲しいです。

リリース期間で毎日イベントを開催していたので、進化したGARUDAを観てほしいです！

BS: What new song are you most looking forward to performing live for your fans and why?

BS: ファンのためにライブで演奏するのを最も楽しみにしている新曲とその理由を教えてください。

G: I’m looking forward to performing all the songs, but I really want everyone to go wild with ‘Psycho Speedumb’ and ‘FLY HIGH AGAIN’, since these are the types of songs that can be circle-moshed to. Of course, it’s best if everyone enjoys the shows in their own way!

G: どの曲も楽しみですが、やっぱり新曲の『Psycho Speedumb』と『FLY HIGH AGAIN』ほサークルモッシュができる楽曲なので、ぜひ皆さんにも暴れて欲しいです。もちろんみんながそれぞれの楽しみ方で過ごしてくれるのが一番です！

G: I really love you all! This year, I’ve been given the opportunity to go on two European tours. The June tour has come to fruition thanks to Yurapico, who had told me “I would love to go to Europe with GARUDA.” It’s a performance you can only experience at this very moment, so I hope that you will burn it into your memory! I am really looking forward to spending time with you all on the tour!

G: みんなのことを本当に愛しています！　なんと今年は２回もヨーロッパツアーに行く機会をいただけました。６月のツアーはゆらぴこちゃんが「ぜひGARUDAと一緒に行きたい」と声をかけてくれて実現します。今この瞬間でしか観れないパフォーマンスを目に焼き付けてください！心からツアーで皆さんと過ごせる時間を楽しみにしています！
